Cadac Group released a new version of their Organice product today. This release again proves Cadac Group's commitment to provide their customers with the most User Friendly SharePoint Experience. This release provides end-users with significant new capabilities:
Local Workspace The local workspace, introduced in earlier versions for Caching and AutoCAD users, is now completely integrated with the Organice User Interface and allows most native applications to work with SharePoint. The Organice Client and Organice Workspace environments perform most of the required file management automatically. The user only has to be involved when documents that reside in the local workspace have not been checked-in or uploaded in SharePoint. Native application support Many applications are not SharePoint aware because they are not capable to Open or Save URL based file locations. Most companies that use SharePoint as their document management system have found that documents maintained by these applications are not stored in SharePoint. Organice release 124 uses the Local Workspace as an extension of the SharePoint document libraries to allow users to use these applications directly from Organice. All normal Check-Out and Check-In can be used to prevent multiple users to modify the same document and see who is currently working on the document. AutoCAD integration Our highly acclaimed AutoCAD integration is now fully integrated with the Local Workspace which gives the user even more control as before. Starting with release we are glad to also provide our Organice users with support for AutoCAD LT. AutoCAD LT does not support Add-Ins so the SharePoint functions available through Organice AutoCAD are performed through the Organice Local Workspace management desribed above. Office Integration Based on customer feedback we have replaced the seperate Organice Office Toolbar with Organice buttons in the "Standard" Office toolbar. In addition this release also provides the capablity to map Email fields to Sharepoint properties so Subject, From, To, CC, BCC, Date-Time Sent, Date-Time Received and Size properties are automatically filled when Emails are saved to SharePoint. Emails that are saved to SharePoint are also flagged in Outlook so the user knows which emails were saved in SharePoint. If you would like to try Organice let us know here.
