The Cadac Group, a leading Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, is proud to announce that QR Network (Queensland Rail, Australia) has chosen to manage and control their project documentation with Organice; a Microsoft SharePoint based engineering document management solution developed by Cadac.
QR is one of Australia’s largest and most modern transport providers. Since the 1970s, QR has owned and operated the Jilalan Rail Yard, a key link in the Goonyella coal supply chain, delivering export coal to the Hay Point and Dalrymple Bay coal terminals. The Yard’s original design and operating capacity in the early 1970's was 8 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) with 1km long trains. This capacity has been incrementally increased over the last 30 years to today’s capacity of 100 mtpa and 2.1km long trains. QR is again increasing the capacity of the infrastructure with a major upgrade to Jilalan that will increase the Yard's capacity to 130 mtpa. To perform this upgrade, QR has formed the Coal Stream Alliance - Jilalan (CSAJ) with five experienced business partners.
To fulfill the information need in the project and between the business partners in the alliance, QR has implemented a Microsoft SharePoint (MOSS 2007) infrastructure with Organice to manage the project documentation and to control the document distribution. Organice Transmit is being used to create transmittals, send project documents to the business partners and to track the document distribution. A specific transmittal letter is created for the CSAJ project. Document controllers know exactly which business partner received which documents and they can track the action that needs to be performed on these documents.
The Cadac Group is proud to have QR Limited and the CSAJ project as an Organice reference.
